Born in New Orleans and raised in Raleigh, José is excited to bring his accomplished athletic background to FlowCORPS. José was a nationally-ranked pole vaulter, a Division I student-athlete, and has traveled internationally competing on Puerto Rico’s National Junior Team. After his sophomore year of college, José stepped away from Track & Field to address an ongoing eating disorder; during his recovery he found his passion for coaching through his university’s rowing team, where he served as a coxswain for two years.
When José isn’t teaching at FlowCORPS — or taking his third class in a row — you can find him reading critical theory, working as a graphic designer, or indulging in his extensive skincare routine. José boasts a big laugh, an even bigger heart, and is excited to build a community of powerful bodies at FlowCORPS!
